Waste Ordinance No. 2003-092.

Officers investigate complaints and enforce the following
ordinances:
- Real Property Ordinance:
Junk/trash/debris, improper outdoor storage, derelict
vehicles, overgrowth of grass and weeds. Coordinate and
facilitate the Community Clean Ups in Sarasota County.
- Zoning Code: Land use, light meter
readings, night club inspections, temporary use permits, set
back measurement, special exceptions, removal of illegal
signs in the Rights-of-Way.
- Building Code: Illegal
construction, unlicensed contractors, commercial & residential
Certificates of Occupancy, unfit/unsafe structures (demolitions
and board ups).

Sound Ordinance: Sound meter
readings are usually taken on construction or equipment noise
(disturbance of the peace and music issues are addressed by the
Sheriff's Department).
News Racks: Illegal placement,
abandonment and deterioration.
