Oil Spill
Sarasota County has had no impact from the Deep Horizon oil rig
spill. The county continues to monitor developments related to the
spill. The primary agencies responsible for responding to the spill and
directing cleanup operations are the Florida Department of Environmental
Protection, the U.S. Coast Guard and BP. To report oil spotted in water
or on shoreline call 1-866-448-5816.
